Sound Structures Workshop
About This Event
Morning, opening, greetings, introductions. Goal of meeting to discuss and share the importance of phonetic and phonological documentation and analysis data to the field of linguistics and several adjacent fields such as sociolinguistics, anthropology, environmental biology, language policy.
Keynote lecture followed by discussion, Christian DiCanio Enriching Laboratory Phonology with Rich Language Data: From Documentary Fieldwork to Corpus Phonetics Lunch provided.
The afternoon: presentations by six members of the Corridor, on a diverse set of research questions, ethics, methods, data analysis and experience in the collection of phonetic and phonological data in fieldwork, followed by discussion. Catered dinner.
