Medieval Matters 2: An Evening at the Cary Graphic Arts Collection

About This Event

Join us for a visual feast, when we welcome Dr. Steven Galbraith, Curator of the Cary Collection, to share some of the Cary’s collections across the Middle Ages. Nods will be made to familiar friends such as Otto Ege’s accessible collections of sheets from a number of “broken” books; Asian material (two early scrolls); early printing type, as well as printed books from the incunabula period. At the end of the viewing session, Juilee Decker, Professor of Museum Studies, and David Messinger, Professor and the Xerox Chair in Imaging Science, will share an update on the advancements of their NEH-funded multispectral imaging system, called MISHA. The event will conclude with brief refreshments and an overview of the new, permanent exhibition in the Cary, Milestones in Printing. All are welcome!
