Literature and Movies: An Evening with Spanish Filmmaker Paula Ortiz

Paula Ortiz is a Spanish director, screenwriter and producer who works for Get in the Pictures Productions and Amapola Films and teaches audiovisual communication at the University of Barcelona. Her credits include Chrysalis (De tu ventana a la mía) (2011), The Bride (La novia) (2014), Across the River and into the Trees (Al otro lado del río y entre los árboles) (2022), Teresa (2023), and the forthcoming Hildegart. In 2011, Ortiz was nominated for a Goya Award (equivalent to an Academy Award) in the Best New Director category for Chrysalis (De tu ventana a la mía). She later won the Pilar Miró Prize for Best New Director at the Valladolid International Film Festival. The Bride (La novia) was nominated for 12 Goya awards and won two. She will share her approach to filming literary works and field questions from the audience.
