Language Documentation Group Meeting and Research Exchange
About This Event
This will be a one-day event. Our goal is to have an introductory meeting and informal discussion and exchange of research ideas after a pause of the activities of this working group during the pandemic. In addition to linguistic faculty and students from Cornell University, University of Rochester, and Syracuse University, we will extend invitations to linguists at other nearby universities, such as Buffalo, Albany and CUNY to mutually benefit from each other's research experiences. The morning session (10:30 am-12:30 pm) will be devoted to a working group planning meeting as well as inviting all participants to introduce themselves and their current research (about 5 minutes each). This will be followed by a catered lunch for all participants. The afternoon session (2:00-4:30 pm) will feature one invited speaker and mostly devoted to breakout research discussion groups, which have to report to the entire cohort after every 30 minutes.
