"Her Voice, Her Home" Concert with Panel Discussion
About This Event
The RIT Philharmonic Orchestra, directed by Yunn-Shan Ma, in collaboration with the choirs from Cornell University directed by Joe Lerangis, proudly presents "Her Voice, Her Home," a concert celebrating the works of underrepresented Asian female composers as part of the new Asian Music Initiative, including a world-premiere of 'Wrath of the Winged Dance' by Yi-Ning Lo. Taking place on March 8th, International Women's Day, the event aims to showcase the diverse and powerful contributions of these composers to the musical landscape. Additionally, several RIT students have meticulously designed and edited videos to accompany the musical performances, which will be showcased during the concert. There will be a thought-provoking pre-concert panel discussion featuring the composers and conductors at 6:00 pm, followed by the concert at 7:30 pm. (Free and open to the Public)
