Early Modern Connected Histories Writing Retreat
About This Event
Continuing a successful tradition of ending our productive years and launching members into a summer of writing, we will be hosting our third writing retreat to cap off the year. This is intended to think intentionally about how to maximize the summer for writing and research productivity, and bring together continuing conversations from across the year and institutions in an extended and less formalized setting. As in years past, we have a full day of writing scaffolded around group meals and conversations, and we begin the event with a white-board brainstormed strategic plan for writing; we break out into writing sessions and come together over meals to discuss progress and ideas. After a long year on campus-wide responsibilities and teaching, it is easy to let the early summer pass and fall behind on writing. This event is intended to jumpstart the writing process and keep people on track with ambitious goals.
