About This Event
The analysis-a-thon, “Closing the Gender Gap III: Open-Access Analysis of Amy Beach's Gaelic Symphony,” will be hosted by Elizabeth Marvin (Eastman School of Music), Sarah Marlowe (Eastman School of Music), and Mark Gotham (TU Dortmund University) will be an international collaboration between members of the Eastman School of Music (University of Rochester) and York University (UK). During the session, participants will work together to provide a thematic and motivic analysis of Amy Beach’s Gaelic Symphony.
Work will be done in breakout groups over Zoom, and the session will conclude with a group discussion focused on research and pedagogical uses for encoded analysis such as these.
