Author-Meets-Readers: Stuart Elden, The Early Foucault (Polity 2021)
About This Event
Genealogy in the Humanities invites you to the fifth installment of our "Political Theory in the Archives" series: an author-meets-readers seminar with Professor Stuart Elden to discuss his new book, The Early Foucault (Polity 2021).
The Early Foucault, the latest installment in Professor Elden's four-volume study of Michel Foucault's intellectual history, examines Foucault's largely unknown work of the 1950s, leading up to his first major book, History of Madness, in 1961. The research has been conducted with archives in Paris, Normandy, Switzerland, Germany, Sweden and the United States, and is funded by the British Academy and the Leverhulme Trust.
